Maddie + Eric: A Lavender affair at The Houstonian

I met Maddie and her wonderful mom, Sheila at The Bridal Extravaganza Show last summer. Even though we only got to chat for a few minutes that day, I just knew I had to work with them! They were both just the sweetest, kindest, down-to-earth southern ladies. When we finally sat down to go over the vision of Maddie's dream day, I was in love immediately. She wanted a very formal theme with some shades of purple to bring in some color.

Maddie & Eric got married at the beautiful St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land followed by a rockin' reception at The Houstonian. As you can see in the pictures below, the church is just filled with color so we had to be careful when selecting a shade for the bridesmaids to wear. I also love how the purple really helps to brighten up the ballroom at the reception.

Maddie went to Texas A&M, so of course there was the traditional fight song dance but what really shocked guests was when we passed our handkerchiefs for the "second line dance". Eric is a run loving cajun (and LSU alum!) and this is a tradition for them Louisiana folk. The guests had so much fun and I am so glad this was able to be captured on video.
